Workshops proposal guidelines

Organizers can decide on their own deadlines for submission and reviews, but the final submission must comply with the overall proceedings rules, particularly: Papers must be submitted online and peer-reviewed by at least three reviewers; the maximum paper length is 10 pages (a smaller maximum may be prescribed by workshop organizers). The deadline for the proposal is March 21, 2010.

Proposals must be submitted by the deadline indicated above to the two Workshop Co-Chairs by email containing:

  • Content of the Workshop: Title, Tentative Text (Body) of the Call for Papers; an abstract addressing the rationale for the workshop (in particular: why is the proposal appropriate to ACM MM, what is the target audience, and what do the organizers anticipate the participants will learn; ’series’ context (is the workshop part of a series? Was it held before? If so, when/where); tentative review procedure and timeline; possibility to have specific events such as keynote speech, post-selection for special issue in a journal, panel, tentative Program Committee (name and affiliation of members)
  • Attendees: Expected number of participants, and a list of at least ten people which could be interested in submitting a paper; possible connection to other communities or related workshops
  • Proposers: For each of the proposers: name, affiliation; short bio, including a description of the expertise in the topic of the workshop (non more than 250 words)

The Workshop proceedings will be published together with the proceedings of the main conference in electronic format by ACM.

We would like to create strong scientific events! Thus, we would like to give you the support you need to organize events of high quality. You are encouraged to contact us before the deadline, to share your ideas and clarify your doubts.
