Brave New Ideas guidelines

BNI research papers and sessions proposals follow different submission rules.

Research papers follow the same standards of scientific quality as MM ‘10 full paper submissions and will be presented in the Main Program of the Conference in oral talk format.
Submissions must report original research, not accepted or under submission to any journal or conference (including MM ‘10). Authors that intend to submit an individual research paper to the BNI program must:
Submit on March 21st a short abstract (500 words maximum) that clearly indicates novelty of the work to be presented. The submitted abstracts will be filtered by Brave New Ideas Program Chairs. The authors of the abstracts deemed to be of “brave new ideas” will be invited to submit the full paper version by May 7th. These full papers will undergo a regular reviewing process plus discussion with Brave New Ideas Chairs. Papers that do not pass the first stage are rejected early without review.

Session proposals should include title, a one-page abstract describing the scope of the session, names and one-paragraph bios of the organizers, and the expected composition of the session. Any special equipment requirements should be noted as part of the proposal. Session organizers should expect to find external support for equipment needs that go beyond the facilities provided by MM ‘10. Sessions’s proposals must be submitted on March 21st and will be reviewed by the BNI program chairs who will interact with the proponents to insure the quality of the session.

For the accepted session’s proposals, sessions participants will be invited to submitt a full paper by May 7th. Papers will undergo a reviewing process Under the direct management of BNI program chairs.

Please note that in both cases papers can be between 4 and 10 pages. No special weight will be placed on the length of the submission and all accepted BNI papers will be presented in oral format. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings and included in the ACM Digital Library.

For research papers, authors must submit an abstract by the March 21st deadline also via http://edas.info/N8943.
Special session proposals must be submitted by the March 21st deadline via http://edas.info/N8943.
